SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS

We were thrilled to be joined by two VIP guest speakers at our meeting!

On Friday, George Cleveland delivered an entertaining glimpse into President Grover Cleveland and the Oddities of Bring a Presidential Grandson. A special thank you to Brian Jordan (RI) for inviting this special guest!

On Saturday, we were honored to be joined by Senator Angus King (ind.) of Maine at our Lobster Bake event. Senator King spoke to the group about his views on the history and current state of our democracy, increasing party polarization, and the government shutdown. Thank you to James Bass (ME) & Charlie Soltan (ME) for helping to make this appearance possible!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT FUNDS

SLR has a community support fund to give back to communities we visit. This year, SLR has made a donation to Legal Services for Maine Elders. This is an organization that Charlie Soltan (ME) has been heavily involved in for many years. Their mission is to provide free, high quality legal services to elder Mainers when their basic human needs are at stake and advocate for people facing challenges accessing Medicare benefits.

Thank you to Soltan Bass LLC for the recommendation, and we sincerely appreciate all the efforts to make this Fall Meeting so memorable for our group.

LOBSTER BAKE & GROUP PHOTOS

We had a cracking great time on Saturday afternoon at our lobster feast! The mobile bar was stocked with Cushnoc beer and specialty cocktails. Lobsters, clams, potatoes, and corn was piled high on the fire to roast, and there was plenty of butter, smiles, and sunshine to go around.
