Mission Statement

St. Martin of Tours Academy fosters confidence, curiosity, and independence through a climate of cooperation and trust by preserving dignity throughout the learning process, accentuating all children’s God-given gifts in a Catholic environment.

Dear SMA Community,

Our 32nd Walkathon was an amazing Olympic success! The opening ceremony, class flags, and torch-lighting brought so much joy to students and onlookers. Each class represented a country from the 1st Olympics on April 6, 1896. We are truly thankful for the Walkathon committee and our sponsors. Thank you to everyone who made a donation in a students' name. We would love your feedback and ideas. Click here to complete the 2023 Walkathon survey. Stay tuned for information regarding all the exciting rewards SMA students have earned.

Our last school-sponsored Mass is this Sunday at 9 am. We hope you can join the 1st grade class for their bake sale between 8-11 am in the hall before or after Mass. Thank you for attending yesterday's Mass. Father Elmer's homily reminded us of the deep love God has for all of us, referencing John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,

but that the world might be saved through him.

We hope more parents and relatives will be able to join us next school year as we transition back to 8:30 am school Masses.

NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT 4/28 is MOVIE NIGHT! A 200-foot screen will be set up in the upper parking lot next to the parish hall. Enjoy snacks and "Puss in Boots - The Last Wish" at 7:00 pm. See the flyer below for more information and QR code payment ($10 per family).

Our final Parent Teacher Group (PTG) Meeting is Wednesday, 4/26 in the library at 4 pm (in person). The PTG will share election results and introduce our new 2023-2024 PTG Executive Officers. We will brainstorm and discuss plans for next school year. ALL teachers and parents/grandparents are welcome!

Emmet Farrell, Diocesan Creation Care Director will be at the booth along with SMA's Fair Trade Club members. Free raffle drawing for a fair trade soccer ball at 12:30pm. (must be present to win). Alumni News- Featuring

Benjamin Soto, Class of 2014

Hello – I’m Benjamin “Ben” Soto and I am a graduate of St. Martin of Tours Academy – Class of 2014. I have many fond memories of St. Martin’s – especially since I made many lifelong friends at SMA. In fact, several of my former classmates and I get together throughout the year. Once I matriculated to St. Augustine High School, I felt well prepared academically and socially as several of my SMA friends also attended St. Augustine. I even started my own Robotics Club at Saints.

The years went by quickly and I was now looking at colleges, I was accepted into San Diego State University’s Honors program – with a Major in Finance. My time at State was well worth the effort as I graduated “on time” without having to extend my college education. After graduation, I was hired by Private Consulting firm working in my chosen field of Finance. I will always cherish my time at SMA as I am grateful for the foundation I was given, the wonderful and supportive teachers and staff and the amazing experience of a Catholic Education.

Jean Mollenhauer passed away on Tuesday evening, 4/18. She is a great-grandmother to Carys Albright (gr. 6). Please keep the Albright and Mollenhauer family in your prayers.

Sacramental Prep- Important Dates to Attend

for 1st Communion

4/23 Sunday: Last Sacramental Prep Session #6 after the 9 AM Mass - meet in the Hall at 10:15. Please make every effort not to miss!
5/5 Friday: 3:30 to 4:30 Mandatory Practice for both First Communion Masses - meet in the church
5/6 Sat. 5PM First Holy Communion Mass - families arrive to the church by 4:30PM
5/7 Sun. 9 AM First Holy Communion Mass - families arrive to the church by 8:30AM
