Mission Statement
St. Martin of Tours Academy fosters confidence, curiosity, and independence through a climate of cooperation and trust by preserving dignity throughout the learning process, accentuating all children’s God-given gifts in a Catholic environment.
Dear SMA Community,

This week, more than ever, we are reminded of the special gifts a Catholic education provides. When I encounter adults who are products of Catholic education, I commonly hear how they are close friends with their classmates from elementary school. They keep in touch and often send their own kids to the same school they attended as kids. As a parent of two, I could not afford a Catholic education for my children. By the time they were in 2nd and 4th grades, I knew I had to take the risk, sacrifice financially, and hope moving them from public to Catholic school was going to work out. The risk paid off. Today, they remain friends with many of their classmates, value service, pray, and continue to take risks knowing that God has a plan for each person.

Catholic Schools Week started off with a beautiful Sunday Mass followed by an open house and successful bake sale. The Academy and Preschool were buzzing with current and prospective families touring the campus via Student-Council and staff-led tours. The week just got better with our first ever Honor Assembly, big/little friends spending time reading together, our annual talent show, cultural heritage day, and meeting with Auxiliary Bishop Michael Pham. Lunch with a Loved One was rained out, but rescheduled for February 22nd.

Tomorrow is silly sock day, parent experts visiting classrooms, and the Family Valentine's dance. You can still get your tickets below or purchase at the door tomorrow at 6 pm.

Blessings,
Jennifer Miller, Principal

Coach's Corner - Message from Coach Yeats
Hello Spartan Families! I am so excited to be your children’s PE teacher. Your children are kind, inviting and so enthusiastic! I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend my days with them. I wanted to thank you for all the well wishes and kindness you have shown me the past couple weeks. I truly love being here.
Something I do each class, while we are stretching, is say a list of affirmations. Affirmations are so important to speak over ourselves and others. They help foster our confidence, encourage curiosity, and teach independence through affirming that we are capable of learning and growing in this beautiful environment.
Our PE affirmation list:
I AM AMAZING • I CAN DO HARD THINGS • I AM A GOOD FRIEND
•I WILL TRY MY BEST • I AM LOVED • I AM IMPORTANT
I AM DESERVING OF RESPECT
We are adding to the list this week- I AM A PEACEMAKER
THANK YOU SMA and look for more Coaches Corner thoughts. :)

Many of you know I am the wife of a former Navy SEAL. I witnessed and felt the bravery of our special operators and their families. Recently, two SEALs lost their lives protecting our country. Their families have close ties to members of our SMA community. If you would like to help their families, please click this link. Please keep these families and all military families in your prayers.
