Dear SMA Community,
We are excited to kickoff some special back to school events. Please see flyers below for Kindergarten Orientation (Adults), New Family Orientation (Adults) & Junior High Student/Parent Night. Meet your SMA family, including teachers and administration.
Our staff attended Mass together earlier this week and had the opportunity to learn about each other's uniqueness. Fr. Elmer spoke about the unique opportunities teaching in a Catholic school offers and the huge role we play in setting examples for our students. The retreat also consisted of individual prayer intentions for the upcoming school year and a beautiful art lesson led by art teachers, Mrs. Covey and Ms. Isabella focused around our theme of "Live Out Your Purpose".
We've been cleaning and making improvements all summer throughout campus. Can you help us? We need more hands to beautify our campus. Volunteers are coming this Saturday to help with the garden and other jobs around the campus. If you are available to pull weeds or help paint on Saturday, between 8 and 10a.m., we would greatly appreciate the help. Call or email the school office if you can assist or just come to the garden gate for entry located on the east side of the Preschool. Remember to record your volunteer hours on Schoolspeak.
Lastly, two members of our PTG are working on a grant to help supplement the cost of the shade structure for the basketball area. We need a recommendation from an AAD (American Academy of Dermatology Association) dermatologist. Our hope is that there is someone from our SMA community that may know a local dermatologist who can support our request for the grant. The grant award can be up to $8,000.
Summer Blessings,
Jennifer Miller
