Mission Statement
St. Martin of Tours Academy fosters confidence, curiosity, and independence through a climate of cooperation and trust by preserving dignity throughout the learning process, accentuating all children’s God-given gifts in a Catholic environment.
Dear St. Martin Community,

SMA's Lenten journey continues with students having the opportunity to see a special theatrical performance of Mark Price as Simon Peter in the hall on Monday. Families are welcome to attend the evening performances listed below. Last week, I shared the Corporal Works of Mercy with you. Lent is an opportune time to also revisit the Spiritual Works of Mercy. Just as Jesus attended to the spiritual well-being of those he ministered to, these Spiritual Works of Mercy guide us to "help our neighbor in their spiritual needs" (USCCB). They include counseling the doubtful, instructing the ignorant, admonishing the sinner (in a loving way), comforting the sorrowful, forgiving injuries, bearing wrongs patiently and praying for the living and the dead.
Today marks the end of our 2nd trimester. Conferences are Wednesday, 3/15, Thursday, 3/16 and Friday, 3/17. School is dismissed at noon. Student-led conferences are 15 minutes in length. All families should take advantage of this precious time to learn about their child's progress and ask questions. There are no after school activities except for Spartan Care which is open until 6 pm. Signup starting tomorrow for conferences through SchoolSpeak.

We congratulate the Ha family, who won one week of Summer Camp. Their name was drawn at the last Parent Teacher Group (PTG) meeting. Summer Camp signups can be found on SchoolSpeak through May 1st.

Next Friday is a Teacher Professional Learning Day (PLD). School will be closed for students all day while teachers across the Diocese meet at Good Shepherd Catholic School to continue our deep dive into intentional teaching and learning in alignment with educational standards.

Thank you to Mari Waldron, Teresa Propper, Alicia Crockett, Jamie Stradling, Lorena Gonzalez, Genevieve Suzuki and Rosario Santoyo
for organizing the Sock-Hop. The dancing, photo booth, props and overall 50's theme was fun for everyone. Over 48 families attended the event last Friday. See below for pictures!

Lenten Blessings,

Each student is asked to raise at least $50 to earn a free Walkathon shirt.
We are fundraising for a digital marquee for the front of the school to keep everyone up-to-date on the fabulous things going on at SMA, shaded basketball/volleyball courts, and a new and improved field (turf).
