Dear Families,

A reminder that our last enrollment information event for this year is on Tuesday, April 30th at 8:30 AM . Please share our invitation with any family interested in learning more about our programs.
This was an exciting week with so many guests on campus as part of our #ProjectEarth celebration! This amazing program was developed by Todd Brown through the Inspire Project and educator extraordinaire, Deb Walker. Many thanks to them and all of our teachers who supported this outstanding event! Be sure to check out the videos and pictures on our Facebook page to learn all about it!
NEW FAMILIES: Next week on Tuesday, April 30th at 7:00 PM, we will be hosting our Pre-Orientation Event to provide you with an opportunity to learn more about our programs and how your child can prepare for the transition to SMA Prep. You will also be given a sneak peek into our extra-curricular activities, clubs, and sports to learn how your child can get involved.

Also, for ALL PREP FAMILIES: Officer elections will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 6:15 pm in the cafeteria. Any parent or guardian of an SMA Cadet may be on the Board.

The Inspire Project: Nita Wiggins

Nita Wiggins shared her incredible insight as an award-winning journalist and author. Her passion for education and striving for excellence inspired our SMA Prep cadets yesterday as she shared key concepts behind her success. The PTCC Wants You!
The Parent Teacher Cadet Council (PTCC) is a volunteer organization that hosts various events during the school year to benefit our Cadets. Some of the events are: Fall Book Fair, Fall Dance, Spring Dance, Der Dutchman Pie Voucher Fundraiser, Wreaths Across America, Spring Book Fair, and Staff Appreciation to name a few. 
Officer elections will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 6:15 pm in the cafeteria. Any parent or guardian of an SMA Cadet may be on the Board.

Help Needed to Tie Dye Gradventure Shirts
As the 8th Grade Cadets reach the end of their Prep years, it's time for them to have a little fun! We need parents to help the cadets Tie Dye the shirts they will wear for Gradventure! Whether it's sorting and labeling shirts or jumping right into the adventure of Tie Dyeing...WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please sign up for any times you are available. You do not need to be an 8th grade parent to participate. You MUST be registered in the Volunteer Counts system.

The Prep golf team defeated Suncoast Academy April 23rd 198 to 217. The team record is now 3-0. The Eagles will play at Terra Ceia Golf Club on Thursday, April 25 vs Palmetto Charter. 

T he Prep golf team suffered its first defeat in three years Thursday losing a close match to Palmetto Charter. Ari Greene was the low score for the Eagles with a 35. The team will get back to work and get things back on track as they prepare for the league championship May 7th.

PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES: Join us on April 30th to learn about our IB World School Middle Years Programme and how to apply for the 2019-2020 school year. This is the last enrollment information event for this year so don't miss this opportunity to discover how SMA Prep's unique educational program can benefit your child through a blend of character and skills development, academic engagement, and a supportive learning environment.

JR Raiders Go Rappelling!
Summer Basketball Camp
July 8-12 and July 15-19, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Work to improve your fundamental basketball skills while participating in drill stations, camp games, and competitive scrimmages. All skill levels welcome! Contact Erica Aghoian to sign up!
2019-2020 Freshmen Schedules

If you plan on going into Pre-IB next year at SMA HS, you can beat the rush of schedule selections and receive individual one-on-one attention by sending an appointment request to Pam Donehew. I nclude two dates and times that you are available. She will respond with an email indicating which date and time fits her schedule.
Ducks Unlimited

Ducks Unlimited is hosting a local fishing tournament to kick off next year's fishing series with our local fishermen. Participants must bring $10 to enter to show a picture or video for proof of measurement and release, show ruler for measurement 1 point per inch and 5 points for safe release.

Winner with the most points with proof given to us will win a new reel and rod. This is May 8, 4:15 until 5:15 pm. Please turn in yellow form and $10 to Coach Trecartin or SMA-CPT Wright soon and get started.

The SMA Board of Directors will hold a board meeting on May 9, 2019 at 2:30 pm in the SMA High School conference room.  
Gently-Used Clothes Closet

Uniform donations are greatly appreciated throughout the year. This allows us to continue offering a selection of sizes at a reduced cost of $7 per item. Please bring items you wish to donate to the office during office hours.

We are taking appointments for anyone wanting to purchase a gently-used uniform. Please call our office at 941-877-7737 to make your appointment.
