SMA Prep Weekly
Middle School Campus
Dear Families,

It's that time of year again when parents need to complete the online re-registration form for next year. This is for families who already have existing registrations for their child in Sarasota County. For those who have an email address on file, an email was sent from the school district with a "snapcode" that you will need in order to complete the re-registration process. For those without an email, your snapcode was sent home in a letter with your child today. If you have questions or need assistance with this process, please contact our registrar, Erica Rivera .
Additional information will be sent to our new families who are not currently enrolled in a Sarasota district or charter school, with instructions on how to enroll online.

A reminder that the Spring Book Fair is next week! Thank you for encouraging and supporting your child's love for reading.

~ Becky Morris, Assistant Head of School

Here's what is happening at the Prep:
Dr. Charles Mully's Visit

Thanks to Chaplain (LTC-R) Dixey Behnken and Dr. Todd Brown, we were honored to have Dr. Charles Mully visit with our cadets and share his story of how the Mully Children's Family was created as a safe place where over 12,000 children in desperate situations have learned that they are valued and loved. He also had an opportunity to tour the SMA Prep campus and offer words of encouragement to our students and faculty. It was an inspirational experience for all!
LEARNING IN ACTION: Civil War soldiers (living historians) set up camp at SMA Prep last Friday! Reenactors, dressed in time-period uniforms and clothing, demonstrated the use of Civil War era muskets and a canon. Participants also saw demonstrations of food preparation and camp life of Civil War soldiers. Everyone agreed that their favorite activity was the firing the canon!
LEARNING IN ACTION: SMA-CPT Liu’s 6th grade Chinese classes are learning how to say fruits in Chinese. Students are looking for the correct characters on colored plastic eggs to make a word. It’s another fun way for them to learn Chinese.
