SMA Prep News
Middle School Campus
Here's what is happening at the Prep:
Dear Families,

We enjoyed having our families join us for Formation Day this week! Watching our cadets take the lead to start each day is truly impressive. Here's a video of our morning for those who couldn't make it.
Come join us on Thursday, October 18th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Prep cafeteria to celebrate the culmination of our Hispanic Heritage Month activities. It will be a fun evening with snacks, music, activities, student work, and the opportunity to gain one-on-one information pertaining to the SMA Prep online system.

All families are welcome and cadets please dress comfortably by wearing your civilian clothes.

We hope to see you on October 18th!

Disability History & Awareness Weeks
October 1-12

Many contributions have been made by people with disabilities. Here at the Prep we are promoting awareness of some notable figures in the past, such as, Alexander Graham Bell - the inventory of the telephone. He had a learning disability and a slight hearing loss. An there are many more!

Cadets will hear about some of these notable figures each morning on the SMA Prep News . Also, look for posters in the front lobby of our school and in our cafeteria featuring many people who have overcome all types of disabilities and gone on to make wonderful contributions that we all enjoy today.

Bullying Prevention Banner Contest
October 8 - 18
The SMA Prep Counseling Program is sponsoring a Bullying Prevention Banner Contest open to all cadets. The contest will run from October 8th to October 18th.

Banners should communicate a positive anti-bullying message using a variety of artistic designs and media which can include drawing, painting, computer graphics, photography, or any combination. Somewhere in your art, display the hashtag #BullyingPrevention.

Banners should be created in landscape format on legal-size (14” x 8 ½”) paper or card stock. Legal-size paper is available in the office. Be sure to write your name and grade on the back of the entry to receive credit. You may submit up to three entries.

Final designs should be submitted to either SMA-CPT Benitez in Room 501 or SMA-CPT Sacchetti in Room 500C no later than 4:15 PM on October 18th. Late entries will not be accepted.

All banners will be celebrated and displayed together on our campus. We will recognize the third place, second place, and Grand Prize winners of the contest, and the Grand Prize winner’s banner will be printed into a larger banner to be displayed at school and become the SMA Prep Facebook Cover Photo!

We look forward to your submissions!
