FUND-A-NEED
Dear Parents,

As we continue to move through this unprecedented school year, I am keenly aware of how many things we have taken for granted, or have enjoyed regularly, but have had to change.  The next change, of course, is our wonderful fund raising event we call the “Gala.” This spectacular evening, which is normally full of food, fun and community, has had to be reworked. While we will not be having this event with the live and silent auctions, we will be having our $10,000 Giveaway! This will be taking place on Thursday, January 28, at our “Open House," which also had to be changed to a virtual format because of the Pandemic.

One major aspect of the Gala fundraiser was a portion called “Fund-A-Need.” This part of the evening has raised funds for our own Tuition Assistance program for many years. We have had guest speakers come and bear witness to this important cause, because they are passionate about Catholic Education and St. Martin of Tours Academy. The reality is we have some people in our own community that desire a great Catholic Education for their children, but need a little help to make that dream come true. And this is where Tuition Assistance can help.

This year, we will run the Fund-A-Need campaign throughout Catholic Schools Week. What a great way to celebrate Catholic Education! From Sunday, January 24, through Sunday, January 31, we will be accepting donations on our website for this very important cause. On our Academy homepage at the top in the green banner, you can click the pull down menu under “Give Now” and find Fund-A-Need. Every year, we raise quite a bit of money for our own community, and I hope we can do it again this year - even if it is in a different format in the middle of a Pandemic.

Most sincerely,

Diane Hartley

Last year, the Giordano brothers,
Philip, Class of 1988, Kristian, Class of 1991 and Gabriel, Class of 1990, gave a testimonial about the value of a Catholic education. Over the years we have asked alumni to talk about Catholic education and how it made a difference in their lives.
