In January, 24 small business owners received a certificate of occupancy or written authorization to 'Open for Business' from Prince William County Department of Development Services. This is thanks to the Department's Small Business Project Management Program, which offers one-on-one support to new and existing small business owners.
"The month of January was similar to last year, which saw 25 small business owners open their doors in January 2023. On average 30 small businesses open every month in Prince William County," shared Mandi Spina, Director, Department of Development Services.
The Department of Development Services project orientated culture promotes a partnership approach, which is a vital component in business. Its Small Business Project Management Program (SBPM) is exclusively dedicated to small and independent business owners, with less than 35 employees, to support them through the commercial real estate development and building permitting process.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the latest small business owners that were authorized to 'Open for Business' in January 2024:

Over 2,179 small business owners and entrepreneurs have received services since the SBPM program first launched in October 2018.
To qualify for the SBPM program, customers must have 35 or fewer employees and manage their own project. The SBPM program also assists customers in determining if their business idea aligns with the authorized uses and zoning of a property location. It is important to note that national chains are not eligible for the program.
