In July, 25 small business owners received a certificate of occupancy or written authorization to 'Open for Business' from Prince William County Department of Development Services' Small Business Project Management Program.
"By occupying existing buildings and sub-leasing, small business owners and entrepreneurs promote smart development that minimizes the need for new construction, ultimately easing the burden on municipal infrastructure," shared Mandi Spina, Director of Development Services. "In essence, small businesses are not just economic engines; they are community builders and stewards of the environment, making a profound impact on the places we call home."
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to the latest small business owners that were authorized to 'Open for Business' in July 2025:

To date, 2,744 new and existing independent small business owners and entrepreneurs have received services and assistance from the Small Business Project Management Program (SBPM). The SBPM is dedicated to empowering independent small business owners by offering tailored support and guidance throughout the commercial real estate development and building permitting process.
To qualify for the SBPM program, customers must have 35 or fewer employees and manage their own project. The SBPM program also assists customers in determining if their business idea aligns with the authorized uses and zoning of a property location. It is important to note that national chains are not eligible for the program.
Find out how to start here. More information about the Department of Development Services' SBPM Program can be found at www.pwcva.gov/SBPM, by calling (703) 792-6930 or emailing dds@pwcgov.org.
