Description:
This course engages color in an immediate way with this overview of the screenprinting process. Photo processes will be covered, as well as all you need to know about ink preparation, registration and pulling awesome prints. Appropriate for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.
_________________________________________________________ Traditional Etchingwith Duffy O'Connor Thursdays, January 23 - March 27, 2014 10 weeks, 6 - 9pm $350 ($25 off if you register before December 6th!) Description: This hugely popular course in traditional intaglio printmaking is back! Etching techniques of line, aquatint and softground using zinc or copper plates will be covered. Appropriate for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. _______________________________________________________ with Aaron Coleman Wednesdays, January 22 - March 26, 2014 10 weeks, 6 - 9pm $375 ($25 off if you register before December 6th!) (this course is limited to 7 students - 4 spots left) Description: This multi-level course will give students an overview of techniques used in contemporary lithographic printing on paper, with an emphasis on positive and reductive black and white processes. Other topics covered will include a brief history of lithography, the relationship between printer and artist, and proper archiving of lithographic prints. Students who have previously worked in lithography can advance to intermediate techniques and color registration printing.
_______________________________________________________ NEW! Intro To Printmaking: A Survey with Sanya GlisicMondays, February 24 - March 31, 2014
6 weeks, 6 - 9pm
$270 Description: This six-week course offers an introduction to a range of printmaking techniques with which to produce original work. Students will learn and explore many types of printmaking, including screen printing, relief, monotype, and intaglio. Works will be printed with the press and by hand. This course is a general introduction to many of the processes available at CPC, as well as a great refresher course. Some materials are included and a supply list will be provided on the first day. _______________________________________________________ with Duffy O'Connor Thursdays, April 3 - May 8, 2014 10 weeks, 6 - 9pm $270 Description: This six week course offers an introduction to relief printmaking using wood and linoleum. Students will be directed through exercises in cutting technique and generating imagery. Prints will be created both by hand and with a press. Multiple block registration and color mixing will also be taught. Sound technique, understanding of materials and making good prints are the goals. This is a multi level course, where more advanced students will be tutored according to their abilities. _______________________________________________________
