SMBC JANUARY/FEBRUARY Newsletter

A Message from our President

Welcome to a new year for SMBC. My sincere thanks to each of our outgoing board members for their outstanding service during their terms on the board. Eugene Rider, Gary Kapac, John Wright, and, of course, Mary McElvogue served us tirelessly during their respective terms and have left the club in a very strong position. Also, thank you to Brian Dailey, Treasurer; Sara Reibman, Webmaster; Stephanie Garrison, Marketing;

and Ken Nelson, Membership Chair, for their continued service.

Please welcome Don Stuart and Rich Josephson to our board.

It is important to also note that we still have several club leadership roles open so if you have an interest in serving the broader club, please let one of our board members know.

Lastly, thank you to our ride leaders who continue to provide vital leadership to keep our club strong. I particularly appreciate your patience and persistence as we muscle through our patch of cooler January weather.

See you all soon!

New Volunteer Coordinator

SMBC is happy to welcome Bob Trencheny as our new Volunteer Coordinator. Please say YES when he asks for your help. Bob is an active ride leader, route planner (ask him anything about RWGPS!), and has been a previous Volunteer Coordinator. He takes over for Valerie Paoloemilio who tirelessly filled many volunteer spots last year.

Tour de Parks is one of SMBC's signature events. The beautiful Legacy Trail has changed lives! Participate in this community event, meet new friends, and see some of the area's finest parks while riding your bike.
