The GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the GW Medical Faculty Associates are serving as one of 24 participating sites for the Phase 2 clinical trial to evaluate additional COVID-19 booster shots in adults, including multiple vaccines based on viral variants such as Delta and Omicron.
This year, 176 students in the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences MD program matched at many of the most significant residency programs nationwide. They will train in specialties such as internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology, psychiatry, and emergency medicine at programs including Barnes Jewish Hospital, Case Western Reserve, Memorial Sloan Kettering and the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, as well as GW.

  • Physical Therapy award — Matthew Garber, ScD, MPT, MSS, associate professor of health, human function, and rehabilitation sciences
  • MD Pre-Clinical award — Nicholas Shworak, MD, PhD, associate professor of pharmacology and physiology
  • MD Clinical award (tie) — James Edward Wicht, MD ’10, LLM ’97, clinical associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, and Juliet Lee, MD, associate professor of surgery
