GW Taps Julie E. Bauman, MD, MPH, to Serve as GW Cancer Center Director

In this role, Bauman, who will also serve as professor of medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), will build on the momentum of the last five years to enhance the clinical, research, and academic activities at the GW Cancer Center and establish it as the leading provider of cancer care and research in the nation’s capital region.

GW SMHS/MFA Participating in Phase I Human Trial of mRNA-based HIV Vaccine

GW researchers will participate in a four-site, Phase I clinical trial, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and in collaboration with Moderna, to test the safety and immune responses of two mRNA vaccines. The HIV vaccines rely on the same mRNA technology found in the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines.
