Ellen Granberg, PhD
The George Washington University announced the selection of Ellen Granberg, PhD, currently the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology, to serve as the 19th president of the University, starting July 1, 2023. In Granberg the university found a nationally recognized and widely published researcher, with a track record of advancing teaching and research excellence.
Pulitzer Prize Winner Nikole Hannah-Jones, creator of The 1619 Project, kicked off the SMHS Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s seventh annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lecture series, presenting “Confronting U.S. History: We Must End Racism to End Health Disparities,” about the role of racism in health disparities. The lecture was sponsored by the Gilead Sciences Inc.-funded SMHS Two in One Model, an 18-month research-informed training program for primary care physicians.
