Perlin Family Establish Endowed Professorship

Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, PhD, and Donna J. Perlin, MD, endowed the Seymour and Ruth Perlin Professorship in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at GW’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) to honor SMHS Professor Emeritus Seymour Perlin and celebrate the Perlin family’s association of more than a century and over four generations with George Washington University.

GW Liver Transplantation Program Performs Inaugural Transplant

The GW Transplant Institute’s

Liver Transplantation Program

and surgeons Stephen Gray, MD, associate professor of surgery at GW SMHS, and Lynt Johnson, MD, executive director, Liver and Pancreas Institute for Quality

at the GW Medical Faculty Associates and professor of surgery at GW SMHS, completed the institute’s first liver transplant,

a multi-organ procedure, replacing both the patient’s liver and kidney.
