The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted its inaugural Bicentennial Lecture Series event, Staying Heart Healthy, featuring a panel of six of GW’s leading cardiologists discussing advances in cardiac care and highlighting the clinical programs, research initiatives and novel medical education efforts of GW’s academic medical enterprise.

Michael Rosner, MD, Appointed to Serve as Chair Neurological Surgery

The George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences announced the appointment of Michael K. Rosner, MD, as the chair of the GW Department of Neurological Surgery, a role he has filled in an interim capacity since October 2021. As chair, Rosner will be responsible for growing the clinical and academic footprint of the department and bolstering the its local, national, and global reputation.

Katherine Chiappinelli, PhD, discussed her work investigating cancer-associated epigenetic changes and exploring how to therapeutically target these epigenetic mechanisms to effectively treat cancer with the National Cancer Institute in a Q+A titled “Dr. Kate Chiappinelli Explores the Epigenetic Regulation of Immune Signaling in Cancer.”
