Commencement is just around the corner at the George Washington University, with events at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences running from Friday, May 7, through Sunday, May 16. Like last year, all of the annual honor society inductions, award presentations, and diploma ceremonies will be held virtually.
GW President Thomas LeBlanc announced that the university will require all students, faculty, and staff who are on campus, in person for the 2021-22 academic year be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to returning to campus.
William Borden, MD, will serve as interim Chair of the Department of Medicine, effective July 1, 2021. Current department chair Alan Wasserman, MD, Eugene Meyer Professor of Medicine, will transition to an academic advisory position at GW SMHS.
