News from Mrs. Sims
Principals wear many hats in schools. We are instructional leaders, mentors and coaches, disciplinarians, mediators, project planners, and accountants. However, our first priority is always to keep students healthy, happy, and safe.

At SMM, we have many good safeguards in place. We regularly practice safety drills, have all outdoor doors locked, and have cameras on all outdoor access doors and in the gym. We also have staff trained in CPR and first aid, have AED devices on site, and have regular visits from the health department and fire department.

With the recent school tragedies foremost in our thoughts, the SAC, Parish Council, and parish and school leaders, in conjunction with the Archdiocese, will work together to further assess and improve our safety practices. We will consult experts, parents, and parishioners to assist in evaluating current practices and adding other safety measures that will benefit our entire SMM community. We welcome your input as we move forward in this important process.

God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
