News from Mrs. Sims

Welcome back from Fall Break. We are still celebrating being named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence for the second time. This distinction acknowledges our efforts in supporting all students in reaching high academic standards.  However, it also supports our mission to nurture the unique gifts and talents of each child through our arts programs, enrichment classes, academic teams and school clubs. I have always believed that this commitment to the whole child is one of our strengths. We are blessed with a dedicated and talented staff, exceptional students, and strong and supportive parents. It is all of us working together that keep St. Margaret Mary great! Stay tuned for more information next week as to how we will celebrate this honor as a school.
At this week's All School Mass we said goodbye to Fr. Mark Spalding and thanked him for sharing his gifts with us during the last couple months. Fr. Bill Hammer will serve his first All School Mass on Friday, October 16th as we celebrate the Feast of St. Margaret Mary. Please join us for mass if you can.
May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims

Commitment Sunday - November 7/8

Dear School Families,

Our annual Stewardship campaign will begin on October 24, 2015 and will run for three consecutive Sundays ending on November 7/8. The third Sunday is considered Commitment Sunday where we ask every family to come forward ceremonially and place their commitment cards into an offering basket at all of the weekend Masses.

Stewardship is at the core of who we are as disciples who know, love and serve God.  As Christian stewards, we receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord. (USCCB)

Please give prayerful consideration of your pledge of time, talent and treasure for 2016. Our new Blue Ribbon status is an attestation of our commitment to excellence in education for our families. With your support we can continue in this wonderful tradition.

As a reminder,  2015 pledges need to be current as of December 14th 2015. If this poses a problem for any family we ask that you contact the Parish Office to see how we can be of any assistance.

In Christ,
Donna Schmidt
Community Director

Volunteers Needed

It is time again for the SMM Fall Festival. The Fall Festival raises approximately over $40,000 each year, which goes to our children's education. In order to make it a success, we are counting on your help. Each shift is only 1.5 hours, which means that you will have plenty of time to enjoy all of the wonderful activities that are planned for the 2015 Fall Festival. Please sign up for a slot(s) that corresponds to the current grade that your child/children is/are in. Together, we can make this another successful year!
