News from Mrs. Sims

Welcome back to school! We are so excited to be starting the 2018-19 school year. Our theme this year is, "Mustangs Have an Attitude of Gratitude". Let me start the year off by saying that I am grateful for your children and the SMM community. Thank you for supporting the school and entrusting us with the care of your children. The staff here believes that educating these children in the Catholic tradition is a mission and not just a job. We are blessed to be able to do this work each day.

We are also grateful for the new students and staff members that have joined us this year. Please help me to welcome new families who are adjusting to our school. Be sure to also take the time to get to know our amazing new staff members. Our new teachers are: Christine Barnhill and Rachel Mills in K, Dawn Fouts in 5th, and Angela Hardison in Jr High. Our new assistants are: Mary Bright and Kristen Jones in JK and Coleen Wilkinson in K. Our new full-time counselor is Sharon Schwarz, and our new technology coordinator is Joe Reed.

I will close with a prayer for the beginning of the new school year. I look forward to seeing you soon.

May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims, Principal

"God of wisdom and might, we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body, and spirit. Be with our children as they begin a new school year. Bless them and their teachers and staff. Give them the strength and grace as their bodies grow; wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding; and peace and zeal to their hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
