RCIA Adapted for Children
The process of Christian Initiation is also available to children who may have for some reason or circumstance not yet been baptized or perhaps not received the other sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation.
The RCIA process adapted for children is also being offered this coming year.  It is an opportunity for those children beyond the second grade to prepare with their parents and other children and their parents for reception of the sacraments and welcome into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.

We will be meeting on Sunday mornings from 11:30-12:30, gathering first in the cafeteria, beginning September 10.

If your family is interested, please contact Tara in the Parish Office 690-2851 or
First Corinthians Bible Study
The conflicts of the early Christians in Corinth are in many ways similar to our struggles today as Christians. They, too, witnessed division, scandal, immorality, persecution and other trials. In response, St. Paul taught the Corinthians about the Church as the Body of Christ, introducing them to the most powerful gift of all: the Eucharist.

Join us for First Corinthians: The Church & the Christian Community at SMM in the Hospitality Room beginning September 7 at 9:15-11:30 am and continuing every Thursday through Dec. 7. Materials are $24. Please register in the Parish Office by Monday, August 21. For more info contact Lou Steier at 499-8543.
News from Mrs. Sims

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!  There were many smiles and just a few tears as we began school on Wednesday, but we are all ready to begin this wonderful journey.  We are excited about our two JK classes, the new social studies curriculum, Chromebooks in grades 6 and 7, and Taher's cafeteria program.  Our prayers are for a safe and happy school year for all.

I would like to introduce our new staff members.  Please welcome the following people to our school family.  Lacy Moore is our new Assistant Principal. The new teachers are: Laura Wicke, our Librarian, Andrea Gohmann in 5th grade, and Brian Stephenson in Jr High.  Ann Varga joins us as a second grade assistant.  We have a great group of dedicated and talented staff members working with your children each day!

Our school theme this year is, "175 Days of Wonder".   We will incorporate the focus of kindness and empathy with the Christian Leaders program that was started last year. The faculty and staff look forward to another year of working with you and your children.  The upcoming year is full of promise and possibility.  We are SMM proud!

May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
