Special Area Teachers
School Staff

It's time to show our
appreciation at Christmas to our amazing special area teachers who teach drama, art, music, Spanish (2 teachers), PE (2 teachers), computer, and our school librarian. This collection will also be shared with our school support staff that includes our maintenance, office staff, cafeteria manager and cafeteria monitors, administration and counseling staff.   (We don't want them to be left out because they do not have home room classes.)

Lindsey Phelps  will be taking up the collection this year. If you would like to donate (any amount), please send cash or check (made out to Lindsey Phelps) in a sealed envelope to the school office marked "Lindsey Phelps" by Tuesday, December 13.

News from Mrs. Sims
We are focused on connecting character education with Catholic Identity at SMM. Through our Christian Leadership program, we are able to use components of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, along with positive character trait words, and key Bible verses with the students. For the second trimester, we will highlight the habit "Begin With The End In Mind".  The character trait is Excellence, and the Bible verse is, "Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God".

I see so many examples of excellence in our school each day.  Students show this in the way that they treat each other, in their commitment to their studies, and in their service to others. They display excellence in the arts, academic competitions, and school projects.  You can help your child work toward continued excellence by helping him/her set goals, come prepared to school, and always treat others with respect and kindness. God wants all of us to realize and utilize the many gifts we've been given for the good of others. Let's do that together!

May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
