Jump Rope for Heart
A message from Mrs. Iceman &
Mrs. Hanke

We are halfway through our fundraiser for our Jump Rope for Heart! We are on our way to reaching our goal of $18,000, but still have a ways to go! This is a buddy event for your children, so please make sure that you register online by clicking here so your child has permission to participate in the event on Thursday, March 2

Please donate online  in lieu of sending in cash because there are special incentives for your child when you donate online. it is great time to talk to your children about healthy heart habits! Ask your children about the  fun heart games we are playing in PE!

Thank you so much for supporting this wonderful organization!

News from Mrs. Sims
As you saw from the survey that came out last week, the cafeteria will be revamped for the 2017-18 school year.  We are quickly assessing our options and making plans for the next school year.  The changes will come about because the Archdiocese has chosen to pull out of the National School Lunch Program as a whole.  This means that the oversight of each school cafeteria will revert back to the local schools and parishes.  We have quite a few options to consider.  1.) We can choose to continue with the National School Lunch Program on our own, 2.) We can use a third party contractor to run our cafeteria, 3.) We can manage our own cafeteria, 4.) We can brown bag lunch each day, or 5.) We can create a combination of any of these.  We appreciate your input as we move forward and work to find the best choice for our school.

As a staff, we are also working on ways to improve cafeteria behaviors and the lunchroom experience for all.  We will be implementing some changes this year and others next year.  We believe that lunchtime should be relaxing for students and allow them time to chat with their peers.  However, for safety reasons, it still needs to be somewhat structured and calm.  As we work through retraining students on appropriate behaviors and lunchroom procedures, you may hear some grumbling from your children.  In the end, the cafeteria will be a happier and healthier environment. We appreciate your support as we work through this process.

May God Bless You and Your Children,
Wendy Sims

Congratulations, 8th Graders!

They are now mandated and will be serving at the All School Masses through the end of the school year and during weekend Masses.

We will be sending emails to our 8th grade families each Friday with those students assigned to serve communion at the following week's All School Mass.
