Green for Good Update
from Dr. Gilbert Liu

I wanted to share that we exceeded our goal for students enrolling in the study (56 enrolled with goal of 50). We just fell shy of our goal for adults (enrollment target of 30) by enrolling 25.
For the first partnership between the Institute, university, and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Community, this was a resounding success!
The university team will be working to rapidly process and analyze the baseline data. We will communicate findings ASAP to SMM leadership and look forward to sharing the results and keeping our community partners well informed and closely engaged.

THANK YOU to all who contributed to this incredible accomplishment. I know many individuals really went above and beyond to move things forward.
Gilbert Liu, MD, MS
Chair, Urban Health Policy
University of Louisville School of Medicine
Safety, please!

Please do not drop your children off or pick them up on the side of the building.  All parents need to utilize the carpool lines and system that we have in place for drop off and pick up.
Lock your Car Doors
Please make sure your car doors are locked when you are on the SMM property. Most crimes are due to an easy opportunity.

Check out all of the new, fun, after school offerings for 2nd trimester that will begin in November by clicking here. News from Mrs. Sims
The excellence of St. Margaret Mary School can be measured in numerous ways. Our students and staff members achieve greatness each day. As disciples of Christ, they make positive strides in their friendships, their support of others, their kindnesses and their "can do" spirit. Students are given an exemplary faith-filled education here. They are loved, supported and protected. They are given multiple opportunities to explore and share their gifts. Daily, our children thrive, achieve and succeed at SMM.
One tangible measure of academic excellence is of course test scores. We use them to assess our school programs, track student growth, and evaluate academic achievement. The Terra Nova test is nationally normed, so it also ranks our students against others in the nation and can allow us to compare our students within the Archdiocese of Louisville. We can proudly say that our students' scores rank above the Archdiocesan average, and our test scores make us eligible for Blue Ribbon status once again
Please click here to see graphs that depict our results in comparison to the mandated grades of 3, 5 and 7 in the Spring of 2016. We are so proud of our students and our school!
May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
