News from Mrs. Sims

We returned from Fall Break with renewed energy and excitement to experience our first STREAM week of the year. Teachers and students focused cross-curricular learning on the theme of Engineering Design. Students explored design in our cities and also in Latin America. They created music out of everyday objects, engineered structures that solve world problems such as pollution, and created sculptures, bridges, catapults, and monuments. Teachers focused on 21st Century learning skills by promoting problem solving, group collaboration, and the integrated use of technology. Students were also encouraged to use multiple research methods to learn more about engineering and design methods. The week was full of fun and creative hands-on learning. Thank you to our PTO for continuing to support our STREAM learning.

We also celebrated our Mustang Mile fundraiser this week. Everyone worked together to raise crucial funds that support our expansion of technology and creative learning opportunities. We enjoyed being together as a school on this day, spending time as a community is so very important. Thank you to our Mustang Mile committee, PTO, and all of you who continue to support our wonderful Blue Ribbon school!

May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
