Parents please be advised that we are doing fitness testing in grades 4-8. We have collaborated with computer class and the students are logging all results on their google docs. You should be able to access this at any time. Next week we will be testing aerobic capacity, so please make sure that your children have an inhaler available to them in the event that it is needed. Proper PE clothes for class is also essential.

News from Mrs. Sims
Fall days bring us cooler temperatures, changing leaves and exciting, productive school days. Our 6th graders traveled to the Challenger Learning Center this week. This interactive field trip is one that the students look forward to and talk about long after they attend. Students use their science knowledge, problem solving skills, teamwork, communications and applied math skills to complete their very realistic mission.

I've enjoyed spending time this week formally observing some of our teachers. Each teacher receives two formal lesson observations a year in order to support their professional growth.  I relish watching their creativity, use of new technology and varied instructional strategies which meet the needs of our students.  They truly are a talented and dedicated staff!  Mrs. Martin and I plan to observe all of the teachers by the Thanksgiving holiday.

We are all getting ready for our Prospective Parent Open House which will take place on Oct.25th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm.  Parents will be greeted by staff, PTO members and SAC representatives.  We will give tours at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 am and again at 6:00 pm. Visitors will be able to see our school at its best and will receive updated information about what we can offer their children. Please help us spread the word!
May God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
