OCTOBER UPDATE
JNESO continues to address issues with SMMC management on your behalf:
  • The absence of shuttle service to employee parking (filed for arbitration).
  • Floating on both Day and Night Shift causing double or multiple bumps of staff (grievance moved to arbitration).
  • Unilateral changes to the requirements to take accrued sick leave (grievance moved to arbitration review).
  • Termination of a fellow union member.
  • Non Payment of Certification Pay for Technical Members.
  • Continuity of Medical Care.
  • Deferred Negotiation Items.
  • Non-Bargaining Unit Member doing bargaining unit work.
Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs):
  • Request for Information regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) not provided.
  • Implementation of Discriminatory Pandemic Pay without Bargaining.
  • Management Doing Bargaining Unit Work – Request for Information Denied (PICC/IR).
  • Not Bargaining in Good Faith (Deferred Negotiations Items)
  • Management Unilaterally Changed the Terms and Conditions and Refusal to allow to go through the grievance procedure.
OSHA continues to investigate Health & Safety concerns at SMMC and will potentially file additional citations.
JNESO will keep members informed of the outcome of these situations. Please continue to report anything you feel might be a Health & Safety Violation.
