We flew into San Jose from a 3-day
Integrative Oncology at the Next Level Conference late Sunday evening (10/27). The conference was held in cool, clear, fresh air Seattle. We emerged from the SJO airport sneezing and coughing while breathing the Bay Area air described by news outlets as "dangerous." We drove home with newly acquired slight headaches and sore throats. It hurt to breathe.
We left the upstairs windows open while we were gone, so the smoke had permeated our bedrooms and bathroom. However, the odor was much less prevalent in our first floor living room and kitchen -- partly because smoke rises and also because in September we purchased a state-of-the-art air filtration unit that cleaned the foul smelling air and emitted sweet, clean air.
