Some of our sixth graders took a moment for prayer and a photo op during the Holy Hill field trip.

St. Mary's Visitation Parish School's Mission Statement

St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish School exists to direct children toward God and toward Christian Service to society through Catholic religious formation, academic challenge, and continuous improvement.

Get spooked and help out

Dear Families,

Spooks and Spoofs is right around the corner, not to be confused with Trunk or Treat, a mistake I made last year, when not only did I not understand the difference between the two, but I openly wondered why all of our Halloween events had to so strongly sing with alliteration. But I digress.

For those new to the St. Mary’s community, Spooks and Spoofs is an event for everyone. During the day there is a pumpkin decorating contest, and the creativity and artistic talent displayed by our students . . . and perhaps some parents . . . is at another level. In the evening there are games for the whole family, music, a bounce house, and plenty of food downstairs. Of course, be prepared for some spooky surprises along the way.

Like many of our Home and School functions, volunteers are needed to make this event a success. If you are able, please consider donating some of your time for this. Indeed, volunteers are the backbone of Spooks, the annual Auction for Education, Grandparents Day, and so much more. We encourage and count on each family to play a part and help with such activities at some point during the school year. Celebrations like these are what help to make St. Mary’s such a vibrant place, not just for our students, but for their entire families. We appreciate your help and we hope to see you next Friday!

God Bless,

Siggy Spelter

Principal

School Office Notes

The Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans

The racing world considers the aforementioned races the "Triple Crown of Motorsport". While these can be exhilarating to watch, we don't care to see anyone practicing for them in the parking lot here at school.

Please slow down! Tell your friends, the grandparents and anyone else. Loitering in the drop-off lane; speeding around cars; we have seen some reckless driving during drop-off times as well as during afterschool activities in recent weeks. Thanks for helping to keep everyone safe.

It was a beautiful day at Holy Hill!

SMV Catholic Schools Walk

Thank you for your generosity, and to all who participated in our Catholic Schools Walk events. We raised over $37,000 for the school! The students enjoyed a prayer walk, some pie throwing, and they earned the opportunity to dunk Mr. Spelter, Mrs. Pogacar, and Father Schumaker in a cold tank of water. Quite the splash! Special thanks to the Co-Chairs, Annie Andres and Andrea Ziel for all of the hard work in coordinating such a memorable event.

Prayers said pre-, during, and

at the journey's end.

A surprise slinger!

Mr. Spelter awaiting the dunk!

Father Schumaker - post dunk! A few students may have gotten soaked, too!
