SNF Scholarship Deadlines Approaching
Want to earn your degree? SNF is accepting applications for Professional Development Scholarships to help cover the costs of tuition and books for a degree in a school nutrition related field. SNF has also been working hard to expand our equipment grants program for the new year in order to improve the critical state of members’ kitchens. The 2020 SNF Equipment Grants Scholarship Program is now a common application. But hurry! The deadline for both the Professional Development Scholarships and Equipment Grants is this Friday, January 31.

SNA’s Unpaid Meals Working Group Meets in Arlington
On January 23rd and 24th, SNA hosted a two-day Unpaid Meals Working Group session attended by stakeholders from across the country. Participants worked together to define the source of and seek solutions for the growing national issue of unpaid school meal debt. Read More

The School Food Recovery Act
On January 15, 2020, Rep. Chellie Pingree (ME-01) introduced H.R. 5607, the School Food Recovery Act. This bill establishes a grant program for schools to cut cafeteria food waste and to simultaneously reduce environmental impacts and improve student nutrition.
SNA 2020 Election—February 15-29, 2020
The SNA 2020 election is coming soon! Remember to keep an eye on your email on February 15 for information on how to cast your vote. This email—sent from SNA’s election vendor, Election Services Corp.—will provide steps for you to authenticate your identity and provide access to your ballot through a unique voting validation number. This number will be required to cast your vote. In the meantime, now is a great time to get to know the candidates.
