New Level II SNA Fall Industry Boot Camp Sessions
Attention industry representatives: Did you know we have now developed a Level II Boot Camp with two different concentrations? Starting in November 2019, SNA will be offering Level I and Level II Industry Boot Camp sessions for new and seasoned industry representatives. We have developed two versions of Level II—one with a Food & Beverage Concentration and one with an Equipment & Technology Concentration. These sessions will also include interactive activities, on-site school visits, an exclusive director panel and student panel with the opportunity to ask your own questions! Participation in Boot Camp Level I is a prerequisite for both Boot Camp Level II Programs, unless you have been in the School Foodservice Market for 5+ years.

USDA Updates Procurement Review Tool for School Food Authorities
FNS has published a policy memo regarding updates to the Local Agency Procurement Review Tool for SY2019-20. The procurement review tool is intended to provide State agencies and program operators with technical assistance to ensure that a school district’s procurement procedures comply with federal regulations.
SNA Publishes 2019 School Nutrition Trends Report
SNA has published its 2019 School Nutrition Trends Report, based on survey responses of school nutrition directors nationwide. The report reveals that whole grains will remain a staple on school lunch trays this fall, as 90% of school districts will exceed whole grain mandates. More than 70% reported that about three-quarters or more of grains offered will be whole grain rich. The survey also explored emerging menu trends and unpaid student meal debt.
