Store Owners and Operators,
As we enter a season of increased community need, we’re sharing important updates on food assistance programs and safety guidance for stores across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Please review the relevant information for your state below.
New York
SNAP benefits remain fully funded, and emergency waivers are still in effect to ensure uninterrupted access to food assistance. We encourage all stores to review and implement updated Store Safety Recommendations.

New Jersey
WIC benefits will continue through November 2025 with no interruption. In response to the federal SNAP funding lapse, the state has released $42.5 million in Food & Hunger Grants to support food banks and emergency food providers. Legal efforts are underway to restore federal SNAP support.

Pennsylvania
SNAP benefits were not issued for November due to the federal government shutdown, affecting nearly 2 million residents. Governor Shapiro is pursuing legal and emergency options to restore funding. A recent court ruling may impact next steps, and we will share updates as they become available. Consumer signage is available to help communicate with customers.
