SNAP-Ed is a FREE, confidential nutrition education program that helps families manage food resources during tough economic times. The Extension Nutrition Team of knowledgeable nutrition educators provide practical, hands-on activities and skills for healthy meal prep, as well as explore the importance of physical activity in a healthy lifestyle for the community members in the North Country.

snapedny.org is a one-stop destination for providing those in need with the tools to shop for and cook healthy meals while on a limited budget.

Our team of knowledgeable nutrition educators provide practical, hands-on activities and skills for healthy meal prep, as well as explore the importance of physical activity in a healthy lifestyle for the community members in the North Country. The primary focus of our classes is to promote food resource management skills, encourage healthy food and physical activity behaviors, increase consumption of nutrient dense foods, and develop skills to prepare low-cost, nutrient-dense recipes through food demonstrations

Recipe of the Week
What you drink is just as important as what you eat for an overall healthy diet. Choose water, low-fat or fat-free milk as an easy option to reduce the amount of sugary beverages you family consume. Jazz up your water with fruit, vegetables, and herbs for a refreshing flavor.

Go, Slow, Whoa! Foods
Have you ever wanted to be a Superhero? Learning about Go, Slow, and Whoa Foods will help youth to become their own Superhero as they learn about healthy food choices while playing games and doing activities that will encourage memory and critical thinking. The “GO, SLOW, and WHOA Foods” video will help improve their food choices.

If you need help applying for SNAP, call or email a Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP) Coordinator. NOEP Coordinators tell you if you may be eligible for SNAP, answer any questions you may have, and help you complete and submit your application. It is free and confidential.
