IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION

SNAP has updated our COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Everyone attending SNAP programs will need to have read and signed this policy prior to the start of fall programming. SNAP is required everyone attending programs to be vaccinated and boosted, according to the eligibility schedule. This includes anyone attending the program with an artist or singer, that person also need to have their vaccine card on file with SNAP.

If you have any questions, please contact Heidi O'Mara
SNAP has developed guidelines for ensuring a safe program environment. Please click here to access our COVID-19 Health and Safety Measures. These protocols are subject to change as new guidance becomes available.
You will need to submit your vaccination card by email to the SNAP Office to attend SNAP programs.

If you have any questions, please contact Heidi O'Mara
Face masks still required at programs
The town of Lexington is designated as medium risk and have ended their indoor mask mandate. Out of an abundance of caution, we will continue to wear masks in our chorus and adult visual arts classes.

While we are making strides in the pandemic public health emergency, we feel that the continued usage of masks is important to maintain our in-person programming. Please contact Heidi O'Mara, SNAP Executive Director, if you have any questions.

SNAP Artist Profile: Rebecca O.

Rebecca O. has been with Special Artists since the start of the program, 15 years ago! Rebecca has many interests and especially loves nature. Birds, animals, weather, and the sky are frequent themes in her work. The pieces she creates are very colorful, often using images of the sun, moon, stars, and planets.

Rebecca loves to paint and color and has recently started making potholders using a loom. Her skills have really improved with practice. Her favorite and most successful art form is photography. She saved her work money for a year and was able to buy a really nice digital Nikon camera. She regularly takes it when she and her mother go for walks and finds some amazing compositions. The great blue heron hiding under a bridge at Horn Pond in Woburn is a spectacular shot which she has made into note cards.

Rebecca enjoys seeing old friends and making new friends at Special Artists, the social nature of the class is important to her. She also enjoys having access to a variety of art supplies in class and how Art Director Lidija Vukovic utilizes these materials in different ways really sparks Rebecca's imagination.

When Rebecca is not in art class, she enjoys pursuing her photography, natures walks, going out to lunch with her girlfriends, and trips to Dunkin' and Cumberland Farms with her housemates.  Rebecca is a very talented artist and we are so glad she shares her work and imagination with SNAP!
