EMBRACING OUR SHARED FUTURE,
gathering in Columbus, Ohio!

Dear Friends,

As we have shared in previous egrams, the Sisters of Notre Dame in the United States are preparing for a significant moment in congregational history in July, 2020 when the four provinces will be united into one province.

From July 9 through July 12 this year, approximately 350 SNDs will meet in Columbus, Ohio in preparation for this unification.  This gathering will:
  • Review SND*USA in relationship to religious life in the United States, in the universal Church and in society
  • Explore the needed leadership and corresponding membership traits and responsibilities needed for the new province
  • Continue the ongoing discernment for the inaugural Provincial Superior.
On July 4, we remember the 145th anniversary of the arrival of the first SNDs from Germany.  Since those first pioneers came, we have been graced by the prayers, encouragement and support of hundreds of thousands of individuals.  Please join in our prayer for wisdom and fortitude as we respond to this ever-new call of God--a call to incarnate and radiate God's love to all people.

Blessings always,
Sr. Lisa Megaffin, S.N.D.

St. Matthias classmates Kathy Hamrock and Sr. Rebekah Kennedy.

"The Sisters of Notre Dame gave me a foundation for prayer, spirituality and perseverance that has carried over into my adult life. They were the epitome of 'true grit.' They would face each day with a positive attitude and with the hope that things would work out for the best."

The "Where are they now" feature of the SND Mission Advancement Egram will give updates on our colleagues and former students--anyone entrusted to our care.  We want to share how they live the SND mission by serving, leading, and giving hope within our diverse society.  To submit information for this column, please email Sarah Marcuse at smarcuse@sndca.org.
