Meet the Legislators of Districts 1, 2 & 9

The SNJDC proudly hosted legislators from the 1st, 2nd, and 9th districts at Carême’s Restaurant in Atlantic Cape Community College, in Mays Landing, NJ.


ELEC 825's Gina Sullivan, Co-Chair of the SNJDC Government Affairs Committee, introduced Dr. Barbara Gaba, President of Atlantic Cape Community College, who welcomed attendees to the campus. Marshall Spevak, CEO of Battleship New Jersey and Co-Chair of the SNJDC Government Affairs Committee, moderated the program.


In attendance was Assemblyman Antwan McClellan & Assemblyman Erik Simonsen from the 1st District, Assemblyman Greg Myhre from the 9th District, and Assemblywoman Claire Swift and Assemblyman Don Guardian from the 2nd District. Joe Berg, Chief of Staff to Senator Vince Polistina rounded out the panel of speakers.

Cadie DiGiambattista from Repauno Port & Rail Terminal provided an overview of the port's operations, and its efforts to advance the construction of underground LPG storage caverns.


Jerry Velazquez of The Authority of Cumberland County discussed various projects in the county, including a 130,000 sq. ft. data center, affordable housing, & a fresh food facility in Salem.

STV, a leading professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, announced the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) selected the firm to provide construction management and inspection (CMI) services for the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Following the bridge’s collapse in March 2024, the reconstruction will restore a vital transportation link serving residents and commuters across the Baltimore region. READ MORE.

Camden County College Joins JED Campus Fundamentals to Support Student Mental Health


Camden County College announced that it has joined the JED Campus Fundamentals program to support student well-being and mental health. The program is a nationwide initiative of The Jed Foundation (JED) designed to help schools evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems to ensure that schools have the strongest possible mental health safety nets. MD Anderson at Cooper Expands Radiation Oncology Services with New State-of-the-Art Suite in Moorestown


MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper has expanded its footprint in South Jersey with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art radiation oncology suite at the Cooper University Health Care Moorestown Campus. This marks the fifth MD Anderson at Cooper radiation oncology treatment location in the region, bringing advanced cancer care close to home for more patients. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the new suite features a high-precision radiation accelerator that delivers targeted treatment to tumors, including stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors, with exceptional accuracy. READ MORE.

Founded in 1952, Symphony in C is one of only three professional training orchestras in the United States. It works with current students and recent graduates from music conservatories and universities across the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition to presenting a series of orchestral concerts, Symphony in C offers after-school instrumental music programs in Camden, along with a summer camp and a youth orchestra.
