Hello Sierra Nevada Region Members, Friends and Sponsors!
Well, our annual Soroptimist Development Retreat is upon us! Who’s ready to
participate in some exciting workshops all with our theme of Super Star Dreamers, a
Superhero theme!
Don’t worry if you were unable to attend this year, we are going to work to record some of the sessions and get those posted on our very own YouTube channel. Give a some time to edit and we’ll get all those uploaded and ready for clubs and members to review as they become available.
We also have our 5 th Region Board Meeting happening this weekend as well. Seems so
crazy that half the biennium is already over! Time flies when you are having fun doing
Soroptimist work! Let me make sure I pack that superhero cape and get headed for
Reno!
We are also working on our Fall District Meetings. You’ll see a schedule here in the Eblast along with the calls to those individual meetings as they are coming up fast.
I also wanted to let you know I received some correspondence from SIA HQ about new dates for Dues for the 2026/27 club year. With SIA’s transition to Salesforce, several dues-related processes will be automated and date-driven. One key date is when new dues pricing will be added to the database for a given club year. Since June 30th marks the end of the club year, July 1st is now the date on which new dues pricing will be updated. July 1st marks the beginning of the new club year and will also be the first
opportunity for clubs to pay their dues for the new club year.
Annual dues will now be due by July 31st moving forward, and Section C. 6. Fees in SIA’s Procedures will now read as follows:
| | |
PREVIOUS LANGUAGE
Annual dues are payable on or before July 1.
Clubs that have not remitted their dues by
August 1 will be immediately assessed a late
fee of $50.USD. Clubs that have not remitted
their dues by September 1 will be immediately
assessed with an additional late fee of $100.
For a total of $150.USD if dues are not remitted
by September 1. Those clubs whose dues are
not received by October 1 will have their club
charter forfeited on November 1. Annual
dues/fees paid to SIA headquarters are non-
refundable.
| | |
REVISED LANGUAGE
Annual dues are payable on or before July
31. Clubs that have not remitted their dues
by August 1 will be immediately assessed a
late fee of $50.USD. Clubs that have not
remitted their dues by September 1 will be
immediately assessed with an additional

SIA and we here at Sierra Nevada Region (SNR) want to ensure clubs are aware of these changes for the 26/27 dues season. While it may be many months from now, it never hurts to spread the word early!

With gratitude and love

Greetings illustrious and wonderful members!
We are on the eve of SDR and I am excited to see as many as can attend. We have workshops and speakers galore to teach, inspire and prepare us to go out and be even better Superstars! for our Mission.
After this, we have our Fall District Meetings coming up, as you will see in this issue. Coming and going, we will support each through our endeavors to educate and empower women and girls locally and worldwide!
Love you and love Soroptimist!
Stay cool,
Kathy
| | | | |
By the time you read this, you will hopefully have had members attend the SDR at the
Atlantis and are returning to your meeting full of great information, ideas and sharing
how much fun they had.
What an opportunity for a SOLT Moment! Or two or three! Use their enthusiasm to encourage new members to aspire to a leadership position, or a committee appointment. Not only is your club moving forward to empower women globally but also in your own club.

SNR Endowment Grants for Clubs
Does your club have a great idea for a project or program to make a positive impact in your community, but are short on the funds to fuel it? Help is available! The Sierra Nevada Region has our Endowment Fund available for clubs to apply for financial assistance..
.
The Endowment Fund is a grant program that will give up to $1000
to qualifying applicants/clubs. Clubs can be eligible for the grant no more than 2 times for the same project. The grant is for a new project or a continued project. The funds for the
grant are raised from the raffle ticket sales of gift baskets that are donated from our region clubs and raffled off at the Sierra Nevada Region Conference. The application is available on the Sierra Nevada Region website.
The Endowment Committee consists of 4 region members who will review the applications for completeness and then vote whether or not to approve the request before submitting the grant applications to the Sierra Nevada Region Board of Directors for
final approval. There is still time to get your application in for the September 15th deadline! If you can't get it in by then, still apply to be eligible for the spring deadline.
The Endowment Committee and the SNR Board members look forward
to dispersing these funds. I encourage all clubs with new programs to
apply for this Endowment Grant. If you have further questions, please
feel free to contact me at endowment@soroptimistsnr.org

The online application system is open!
SDR is this weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing all the Club Live Your Dream Chairs at the Live Your Dream Session (LYD). Even if you aren’t a club LYD Chair, everyone is welcome to attend this session. Perhaps you have always wanted to learn more about the LYD program. This will be a great training session for all new and experienced LYD Club Chairs. Even if you have been a Club LYD Chair in the past, you will learn some new things by attending this year's LYD session at SDR. I will be sharing our LYD successes and our new goals for the 2025/2026 Club year. I’m looking forward to seeing you there!
Updated Program Resources
With the new club year comes updated resources! Please help us by using the most up-to-date resources, which can be found on our website. You will find the updated Club Toolkit, along with other useful, downloadable, and customizable resources.
Live Your Dream Awards Resources (English)
It’s time to start recruiting applicants! We will be sharing tips and new resources on social media and the new blog. In the meantime, check out the Recruiting Applicants section on the website
Please be sure to use the updated Application and Reference Forms
To help prepare you for the next award season, here is a youtube playlist with helpful videos and the link to the club toolkit.
Please visit the main club Live Your Dream Awards site for additional resources.
The Live Your Dream online application system opened on August 1st. SIA is creating accounts for all club Live Your Dream Chairs. If your club doesn’t have a LYD Chair, the online application system will be set up with the club president's name. Please keep a lookout for the invitation email. Once you receive the email invitation inviting you to join or reactivate your club account, be sure to click on the “Join Now” button in the email to activate the account. (register for new users or log back in for returning users).
Sender: Live Your Dream Awards lydawards@soroptimist.org
Subject: "Invitation to join Live Your Dream Awards Application System"
If you do not receive it, please check your Spam/Junk folders. If you still do not see it, please let SIA know.
Everyone will need to sign a new confidentiality agreement using this link: https://soroptimist.jotform.com/program/lyda-confidentiality-agreement
Once SIA receives the confidentiality agreement, they will update the account, and you will be able to see applications that were submitted to your club. You will be able to access your club account, but will not be able to see any applications until the confidentiality form is completed.
Please update your club's Live Your Dream Chair information on your club roster with SIA and the region to ensure the correct person receives the invitation email.
If anyone has issues accessing their account, please reach out to SIA at lydawards@soroptimist.org.
Co-Chairs
SIA made some updates to accommodate co-chairs this year! The system will be able to accommodate up to two accounts per club. They are currently creating guidelines to help with this process and will send them to you and any listed co-chairs once the guidelines are finalized.
Best regards,
Billie Araiza
