July 2020 Newsletter
If you haven’t yet donated to Esperanza’s spring appeal—you can still give by clicking here .    To date we have raised over $14,000 and we are so grateful to our donors! The pandemic has placed unprecedented pressures on Esperanza but—as always-- we continue to care for both our residential and non-residential clients. We couldn’t do it without our generous donors and community partners!
In an effort to keep our clients, our team, and our communities safe, Esperanza Shelter will no longer accept in-kind donations with a few exceptions. We will continue to accept the following items:

·       $25.00 Gift Cards to the following places: Wal-Mart, Lyft and Gas Cards
·       New unused toiletries
·       New diapers, wipes and baby toiletries (lotion, shampoo, baby wash)
·       New unused pajamas for children and women

We encourage you to continue donating to our partners Kitchen Angels and Savers . Both of these organizations are partnering with us by providing us with vouchers so that we can still continue to assist our clients with items they need.

If you'd like to donate please contact us at 505.474.5536, prior to dropping items off at Esperanza’s Support Center (3130 Rufina Street in Santa Fe). Donations are accepted preferably Monday - Friday from 10am-3pm . If you would rather mail in your donation you may do so to the address above or send e-gift cards to donations@esperanzashelter.org . We’ll be happy to provide you with a receipt.

How Can You Help if You Know Someone Is Being Abused?
We understand that witnessing or even suspecting abuse can be traumatic.

Maybe you feel you shouldn’t interfere in other people’s business. Or you’re not sure if your friend or neighbor or loved one is being abused and you don’t want to falsely accuse anyone.

Maybe your sister denies that her husband is hurting her—even though the signs of abuse are there. Or perhaps you are simply afraid for your own safety or the safety of your family. All those feelings are understandable. Still, you must try to help and speak up! Recognizing the Signs of Domestic Abuse
