One of the year's major highlights was the expansion of our programs, including the successful launch of a PPS in Counseling, EdD in Leadership, and, beginning next Fall, Early Childhood Education. We will have full cohorts for each of these programs in Fall 2025 and look forward to our first graduates in years to come. In our Master of Education programs, we had successful culminating experience presentations that showcased the depth and application our students command in their research and practice.
In collaboration with local school districts, we deepened our community partnerships through initiatives such as the Teacher Residency programs, which provided hands-on learning experiences and technology integration for candidates in rural and underserved schools. Our faculty developed new partnerships with local districts and strengthened many of our existing partnerships to benefit both our students and faculty. We also saw strong outcomes in student teaching, with many of our candidates earning high praise from mentor teachers and site administrators for their readiness and professionalism.
Scholarship and faculty leadership were another source of pride this year. Our faculty published research on a variety of relevant issues facing schools, communities, and families. Several members of our faculty also presented at national and international conferences, sharing the work being done at CSUCI with wider academic and practitioner audiences. Our students, too, stepped into leadership roles—presenting at symposiums, leading campus events, and contributing to research projects that elevate the voices of future educators.
We also were able to host several events on campus. The Learning Stories conference which brought together early childhood educators from around the world. We also hosted the Social Justice in Education Conference that brought together educators across the region and beyond to discuss social justice issues.
As we look ahead to the next academic year, we remain grounded in our mission to prepare transformative educators and community leaders. The accomplishments of this past year reflect the strength of our faculty, staff, students, and partners—and we are excited to continue this momentum. Thank you for being part of our journey.
