We invite you to join us for the Virtual Summer Games! This event is open to everyone, athletes, coaches, fans, and Unified partners, and is a safe way to compete against and have fun with your friends and peers from across the state. The Virtual Summer Games will feature an at-home competition, a virtual series, and Virtual Healthy Athletes Screening Experiences.

At-Home Competition
The Virtual Summer Games At-Home Competition includes athletics (track and field), cycling, bocce, tennis skills, and swimming events.

Virtual Series
All are invited to come together virtually for a week of fun activities and educational videos. Activities will include Bingo, a talent show, a virtual dance, and an athlete social hour.

Virtual Healthy Athletes Screening Experiences
The Virtual Healthy Athletes Screening Experiences are a chance for athletes to make contact with our Healthy Athletes Clinical Directors in either a one-on-one or group setting. This will be a time to go over many of the concepts that would normally be talked about at an in-person Summer Games Healthy Athletes Screening.

Hy-Vee Move More Wellness Challenge
|
|
Virtually check in every Monday in May with Hy-Vee dietitians and chat about nutrition while receiving support and motivation from your peers. Check-ins will cover pre/post workout nutrition, macros, hydration, and product recommendations.

(Hy-Vee has generously reserved the 4:30-5:00 PM timeslot for Special Olympics athletes, so be sure to register for that session if it works with your schedule.)

2022 Special Olympics USA Games
|
|
The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will be held in Orlando, Florida, June 5 through 12, 2022. The 16 Olympic-style team and individual sports competitions will be held at various world-class venues across the Orlando area. Athletes and coaches interested in applying for the 2022 USA Games should submit applications to registrations@soiowa.org by June 1, 2021.
Team Iowa will consist of 66 athletes and Unified partners and 18 coaches competing in athletics, bocce, bowling, cheerleading, flag football, powerlifting, swimming, and tennis.

The 2021 Law Enforcement Torch Run Spring Polar Plunge season comes to an end this Saturday with the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Polar Plunges. Thank you to everyone who took part in the Council Bluffs, Warren County, Cool School, and Cedar Falls/Waterloo Polar Plunges, with your support we have raised over $46,300.

Swing with Celebrities Golf Tournament
|
|
Join current and former University of Iowa athletes and staff for the Swing with Celebrities Golf Tournament presented by Hawkeye Legacy. The tournament's specialty holes include longest drive, hole in one, and longest putt. Prizes will be given to specialty hole winners. A silent auction will occur throughout the tournament, and a live auction will take place during the awards dinner.

Calling All Car Enthusiasts
|
|
The 12th Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s All-Wheel Show will feature a competitive car show, commercial vendors, and free entertainment. Show awards will be given for Best of Show, Special Olympics Choice, Most Likely to be Stopped by a Cop, Bad Bike, Long Distance, and top 20.

Cost: $20 for the first car and $10 for every car after
