The 993 is collectible for a lot of reasons. It’s not just that it’s the last air-cooled Porsche. It’s the blend of classic 911 looks, heritage and sound with modern technology and conveniences. With its wide, muscular bulges in all the right places, many consider it to be the best looking of all 911s, and it’s certainly one of the most rewarding cars to drive - even if some of the newer 911s are quicker. With a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds, the quarter mile in 14.0 sec. at 100.9 mph and a top speed of 171 mph, this one’s no slouch. Motor Trend magazine summed it up in their headline: “Instant, All-Weather Performance Machine - Just Add Fuel”
Following over a decade in storage, this two owner C4 was transported to Arbormotion & its Rennstaat Porsche shop in Ann Arbor, MI for a complete vehicle inspection, assessment of its needs, and a careful job of bringing it back to life. The fuel tank was flushed, oil (synthetic) and filter changed, transmission fluid drained and replaced. Its old tires were replaced with new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (lifetime tire rotation every 5,000 miles included). The right front wheel speed sensor was replaced, curing dash lights seen on inspection. A new battery was installed. The right rear wheel showed a crack and was properly repaired. Inspection showed a cracked left rear subframe member, which was replaced with the proper part from Porsche in Germany. The engine was safely started and runs strongly. The test drive went well, but indicated a worn third gear synchronizer, so the transmission was removed and rebuilt, with new parts and seals as required.

The car has a clean Carfax report, with no accidents or damage reported. It recently had its body and paint refreshed, with proper repairs as needed. The sunroof was refurbished, with new cables and seals. It and the roof were repainted. Rust bubble areas at the windshield area (a known issue with 993s) were properly repaired, with the windshield and sealing rubber removed and replaced. The rear bumper/fascia was refinished to eliminate small dents and scratches, and the wheels were repainted. The car now runs, drives, and looks as it should.

Detailed records and receipts for all of the above work are included, plus additional service records since 2004.
