The 993 is collectible for a lot of reasons. It’s not just that it’s the last air-cooled Porsche. It’s the blend of classic 911 looks, heritage and sound with modern technology and conveniences. With its wide, muscular bulges in all the right places, many consider it to be the best looking of all 911s, and it’s certainly one of the most rewarding cars to drive - even if some of the newer 911s are quicker. With a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds, the quarter mile in 14.0 sec. at 100.9 mph and a top speed of 171 mph, this one is no slouch.
Only 4,972 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera coupes were produced for U.S. & Canada, this one in Arena Red Metallic with a Cashmere Beige interior. Factory Optional Equipment includes an On Board Computer, ABS, 8-Way Power Seats, Porsche Floor Mats, HiFi Sound Package w/Speakers, Wheel Center Caps w/ Colored Porsche Crest, 17” Wheels w/ Cup Design Rims, Limited Slip Differential, Cruise Control, Sunroof, and CD Radio Becker Porsche CDR 210 (included, with newer Continental Bluetooth head unit installed, no wiring changes).
Additions: Coco floor mats, (original carpet mats included), LED bulbs in brake & turn signal lamps, HID low beam headlamps (all from Bergvill F/X Electronics in Norway). Tires are recent Michelin Pilot Sports (Porsche N-rated), 205/50 ZR 17 F, 255/40 ZR 17 R with late 2019 & early 2020 date codes.
Carfax reports one incident, 04/25/2007: “Accident reported. Vehicle involved in a rear-end collision with another motor vehicle. Airbags did not deploy”. Current owner (since 2020) believes the lower rear bumper fascia was repainted, with no other repaints (based on paint metering when purchased), and there is only one significant chip on the left rear quarter, retouched (photo no. 20). The current owner indicates that engine’s top end is believed to have been rebuilt at around 80k miles, that previous owner/s did regular maintenance, and that one owner was a Porsche technician. The car appears to be in excellent condition: mechanically, exterior, interior, and underbody, with no rust or other issues.
A Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, owner’s manual, original compressor, tool kit, and two keys/fobs are included.
