In a three-way supercar comparison test (Aston Martin DB7 Vantage vs. Ferrari 360 Modena vs. Porsche 911 Turbo), Car and Driver magazine awarded the Ferrari first place. Editor Patrick Bedard wrote, “You don’t take a seat in this machine. You snap into the socket, and the juice zaps through your body. The V-8 snarls—raaah! raaaahh! The steering is ziggy sharp way into the three-digit speeds (don’t sneeze). Body roll stays as flat as Nebraska. The throttle is trigger-quick and the brakes shrug off speed. There’s no relaxation in this office. The voltage is nonstop. Acute! Intense! Incendiary! Get back—unless you think you’re man enough for an all-day orgasm. Obviously, this piece is about a whole lot more than just going fast. It’s about feeling fast, too. And about certain thrilling extravagances of design… What we have here is a machine that never stops expressing itself. And in no case does it whisper.”
This Ferrari is a pristine and well-maintained 360 Modena that was once owned by Bobby Rahal. After purchasing it, the current owner checked one off his “bucket list”, by driving it 1,200 miles round trip (and trouble free) to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, for the Canadian Grand Prix and a memorable weekend with some good friends.
It will go from 0-60 mph in 4.2 sec., 0-100 mph in 10.2, sec., with a top speed of 189 mph – all while making that unmistakable Ferrari flat-plane crankshaft V8 sound. With protective film on its front, entire hood, exterior mirrors, and other body areas, its paint is virtually unmarked.
Its major service has recently been done at 28,398 miles, including: new timing belts, tensioners, idler rollers; spark plugs, engine oil & filter, transmission fluid (all synthetic), coolant; power steering belt, reservoir, hoses, clamps, fluid; front brake rotors & pads, and fluid flush. With all that done, it needs nothing, and is ready for many miles of driving pleasure.
In addition to its normal Ferrari features, the car has carbon fiber interior trim, a six-disc CD player (never used) in the front trunk, with a single CD player behind the audio system face plate in the car. It rides on BF Goodrich G-Force T/A tires (225/45 ZR18 front, 245/40 ZR18 rear), on unmarked wheels.
It comes with its complete set of books in their leather folio, original leather tool roll, and tire repair kit, service records & receipts since 2015, and a clean Carfax report (available on request).
