In its road test of the new 997 S for 2005, Car and Driver magazine wrote,
"(This) is the best Carrera Porsche has ever built. The sport mode firms up the electronically self-adjusting shocks. In normal mode, the system is downright supple, varying the valve settings to smooth out ripples. Push the sport button, or just drive faster; the computer reads either signal and turns up the shock resistance. No Porsche before this one has ridden so serenely while also supplying this level of body control.”
This Carrera S will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 sec., with a top speed of 182 mph. With its bigger brakes, it will decelerate too: road testing showed five successive stops from 70 mph, all in less than 160 feet.
Originally a California car, the current owner acquired this one in 2011. It has not been driven in Michigan winters, has been well cared for, and is in excellent condition. In addition to its long list of standard features, this car is well optioned - with Sport Chrono Plus, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, Adaptive Sport Seats (heated), Bose Surround Sound, Navigation, Multifunction Steering Wheel, and Self-Dimming Mirrors.
In 2018 at 62,965 miles this 997 S was treated to a new LN Engineering IMS bearing upgrade, a new clutch, ignition coils, spark plugs, and brake pads. New Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are fitted to all four wheels. The body, wheels and interior are all in unmarked and excellent condition.
The original window sticker, all books/manuals, detailed service records & receipts since 2011, and two keys are included. A clean Carfax report with no accidents or issues is available on request.
