This exhibition will showcase past work and new work using Bark Cloth that I source from Southern Uganda. For many years I have been exploring how this cloth can be used as a substract for painting, dyeing, printing and stitching.

Please come along and see the work on display and maybe even get a Christmas present in the process.

This exhibition will be supported by a lecture presented by Bishop's Castle Heritage Resource Centre

MY OWN FURTHER COURSES AT

MOOR HALL

In addition to the Face to Face courses, I am also offering a repeat of 'Inspired by William Scott' an on-lline course.

This is what students have had to say about this course this year:

"The amount of work you put into your workshops is amazing…..the research.……the power points with information about the specific artist being featured and her/his work…..and power points about related artists whose work also applies….. the extensive amount of time you put into combining the homework into a power point including thoughtful commentary about each student’s work…. summary reminders sent out each week….the scheduling and leaving many weeks at the end to make one good piece of art."

"During the meeting, the focus on each student’s work….…..you are so positive with your students…. You offer a balance of ‘quiet” suggestions about how to make it better while being very supportive……you also offer suggestions to think about “what if” and how we might take the work in other directions."

"I enjoy in our discussions, your balance on “art” and technique and it was helpful to have a review of hand and machine stitch samples and the use of gesso".

"I welcome the limit to the number of students included in your workshops so that you can offer individual guidance to each. I also like focusing on one British artist. I so also enjoyed your Mary Fedden workshop."

" I would like to take the time to tell you how much I like your class. Foe me it was not only all and more than I expecte but to the point. It is also interesting to see how the other students proceed with teh assignments. I thank you for the input."

MOOR ART 2

My drawing and painting group that meets on alternate Wednesdays is currently full with a small waiting list, but I do have spaces on Moor Art 2 that meets 9 or 10 weekends in the year following the same work as Moor Art 1.

It is an opportunity to really spend quality time with like minded people exploring new techniques and processes using all kinds of inspiratonal jumping off points and delving into the lives of master artists. Next term we will work through careful observational drawings and develop these drawings into to cubist style works using my own techiniques. We will link this to explorations into the work of Picasso and Braque.

FINALLY

'TEXTILE EXPLORATIONS'

We meeting one Wednesday each month with ample opportunity to progress work between sessions.

Each session provides new and practical tasks that students can choose to take on board or not. What is important that each member of the group goes on his or her own personal journey documenting progress on route and not knowing the destination. Keeping a sketchbook of trials and samples is key to being in this course showing this development of ideas.

In the last session we played with Plaster of Paris to manipulate the fabric......we had lost of fun doing this!

That's it for now, but thought you made like to see how my two ducks are progressing. They seem to love living here with us.They fly off somewhere every day for a very short spell, but always come back home.

Maybe I will see some of you at my preview or if not do visit the show at another date.

Bye for now.

Love Bobby
