Delivering a World of Health and Hope .
Give For Good is one week away! You see our reports and hear our stories but this is your chance to become directly involved in our mission of delivering Health and Hope around the world. Any amount you can give will go towards improving lives and creating opportunities.

On September 13th we will give you a behind the scenes look at how our mission is made possible. You'll hear from staff, volunteers and maybe a few surprises too. You can even join us at the Give For Good Rally on Fourth Street Live and meet our team.

We need your help! We are looking for SOS Ambassadors that can share their story about Health and Hope leading up to next Thursday. Do you have a story of how Supplies Over Seas impacted your life or helped you deliver Health and Hope to a medically impoverished community? Email for more information about how you can help us reach our fundraising goal!
Container Shipment
This week we sent out our 12th container of the year! A container full of Health and Hope is on its way to the North African country of Mauritania. Its final destination will be the capital city, Nouakchott, where it will help supply a neonatal clinic inside the Centre Hospitalier National.

Packing this container was a good reminder that even in urban areas and capital cities, the medical need is still present and can be a huge barrier to people in need of everyday medical care. We will share pictures and stories as soon as the supplies make it to their final destination!

Local Impact
Sue Davis in our Expired Store

This month we want to introduce you to an SOS board member and one of our most dedicated volunteers. Sue Davis, EdD, RN retired from teaching at Bellarmine University in May and has since become a regular volunteer here at the SOS headquarters.

She has given countless hours to handling our donations to local organizations. All of the expired supplies given to us go into our "Expired Store" and are donated to local university nursing programs and animal welfare clinics. Nothing goes to waste in our warehouse. Even expired supplies that cannot be used still have a purpose.

The University of Louisville, Bellarmine University and Spalding University are just a few of the nursing programs that we donate these supplies to - free of charge. We focus not only on global healthcare but also supporting the medical education of students right here in Louisville!

Volunteer Appreciation
We always post pictures and tell stories about the great work our volunteers are doing at SOS. Well next Tuesday we are having our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon! Tuesday, September 11th at Noon we will shut down the warehouse and sit down for a meal with our dedicated volunteers. Supplies Over Seas could not fulfill our mission without all of the folks in here every day helping us sort, pack and load medical supplies and equipment. If you have volunteered at SOS and would like to join us, send an email to and let us know you're coming!
