A Message from our new ministerial intern - Kim Warman:
|
|
In this summer-like-no-other, I am wrapping up my life in Chicago, where I have attended Second Unitarian Church and for lived more than 20 years. In May I delivered a good-bye sermon to my home congregation, in June I completed my term as chair of the Anti-Racism Committee, and now I am juggling my Global Religions class along with the logistics of planning a move - in the midst of a pandemic.
One may think this just not the time to uproot and replant elsewhere, but exactly because this is a time of great change, I am leaning in to the changes. I expect to feel somewhat disoriented from leaving Chicago, and my 25 year old son, but earlier in my life I have moved a lot, this is already a time of griefs, great and small. I am excited to be returning to the East Coast, and to be transplanting while the whole garden is being reworked. I look forward to setting roots, and growing in your company. We will meet soon, in on-screen garden boxes or in person!
Thankful to be your new intern minister, Kim Warman

She sings with the Special Projects and Chamber Choirs; has been part of a small group ministry; served on the Intern Committee; and currently chairs the Safer Congregations Committee. CHURCH GROUNDS AVAILABLE FOR <25 PEOPLE Thru July 31
|
|
The TUCW ReOpen Committee has
made recommendations for holding MEETINGS OUTSIDE THE CHURCH BUILDING (on the lawn or in the parking lot). Effective immediately through July 31. Questions? Contact
Rev. Ed.
1. Notify
Diane
in the office so that we do not have too many people here at the same time. (The Nursery School will be in session from 9:00 to 12:00, Mon-Fri, June 22 - July 31. During that time it would not be a good idea to meet. )
2. Wear a mask during the time that you are meeting
3. Practice social distancing
4. Please bring your own lawn chair
5. The upper limit of people attending your meeting is 25
6. Taking attendance is encouraged, in the event that contact tracing is necessary.
7. If possible not to exceed an hour
8. The building is not open. Use of the inside bathrooms is NOT an option at this time.
10. As always, if you are at risk of contracting the virus, or if you’re a risk to others, it’s best to stay home.
