HOW MUCH IS JUST RIGHT TO PLEDGE?
Our RISING UP! Pledge Drive is off to a great start! Thank you! In a little over a week, we have pledges from about a third of our families, and we’re already close to 50% of our goal of $500,000 for the 2022-2023 pledge year. That's fantastic momentum-building! Terrific! Let's keep going ...!
Congregants often ask how much the right amount is to pledge. The answer is…it’s up to you! Rev. John in his sermon this past Sunday mentioned tithing, and its importance to support our individual growth as well as that of our spiritual home. A good way to determine an amount is to look at the value that you and your family receive from TUCW. Use a quiet space and consider what our community means to you, and determine your pledge accordingly. For reference, the UUA offers the following chart to help.
To pledge, fill out a paper form after our service, or simply click HERE. Remember all payment for pledges are not due until June 30, 2023.

Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, children at the Beardsley school happily celebrated Dr. Seuss Day. The Read Across America Day, which takes place on Theodore Seuss Geisel’s birthday, was established to encourage children to read. Organized by Beardsley librarian, Tracy Hintz, (wearing her Cat in the Hat hat) and made possible by our donations of new and gently used Dr. Seuss books, enthusiastic older students read books to appreciative young students throughout the day. It was an opportunity not only for young children to meet those lovable characters, but also for older students to share their love of Dr. Seuss and reading!

REMEMBERING OUR LEGACY SOCIETY MEMBERS
Frank and Roseanne George of Stamford, CT found their way to us in Westport in 1998 and signed our membership book. Frank, an architect, and Roseanne, a fine artist, were befriended by our then minister Rev. Frank Hall. Rev. Frank was intrigued by sketches of a chalice Roseanne was considering sculpting. It had many faces on the neck of the vase and a large bowl on top to be filled with sand to hold candles of joys and concerns for congregants. Roseanne was given the green light and cast this beauty in bronze in 2010. The weight of the Chalice sculpture keeps it from being in our regular rotation! We received a lovely gift from Frank and Roseanne’s estate in 2021.
